Christians do no believe all the same things. We do not see eye to eye on all matters. We find some people difficult to understand, difficult to love.
So can there be unity?
The author offers his answers to that question. He know it isn't easy and we need to be realistic. Whether it's between individual believers or between whole churches, there is no easy way to unity, but how much do we want what Jesus wants?
Christ prayed for it so it has to be our priority. Unity of the Spirit now - unity of the faith to come. Self-denying love now - triumph over hurt and misunderstanding a promise for the future.
